National Chinese Honor Society 中文荣誉学会 (NCHS) 

The National Chinese Honor Society was established in November, 1993 to recognize those accomplished high school students who study Chinese as the second language. The National Chinese Honor Society is not only a scholastic organization but also promotes and recognizes those with good citizenship, leadership quality, and community service among qualified students. The society’s goal is to encourage its members to become life-long knowledge seekers to reach a better understanding to the Chinese language and culture, to be able to play the active role as the builders of the twenty-first century.

 

GUIDELINES FOR MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY 

Membership Eligibility The applicant must be a full time high school student (grades 9 – 12) who has

1.     taken AT LEAST  three semesters of Chinese at the high school level 

2.     maintained an overall B grade or better in Chinese and other academic subjects 

3.     in addition to high academic achievement, has displayed good character, leadership, and service
